The Giovanni Bottesini Music Association is pleased to present the first edition of the ZJCM BOTTESINI COMPETITION ASIA, a biennial double bass competition organized by the Zhejiang Conservatory of Music (ZJCM), one of China’s most prestigious conservatories, and organized in agreement with and under the patronage of the Bottesini Association.
The 1st ZJCM BOTTESINI COMPETITION ASIA opens its doors to young Asian double bass players between the ages of 17 and 35, who will perform in front of an international jury chaired by Enrico Fagone, who is also Artistic Director of the historic Bottesini Competition in Crema.
Jury
The prize is direct access to the auditions for the 10th edition of the Bottesini Competition, scheduled for autumn 2026 in Crema. The winners, in addition to earning a spot on the podium, will receive a scholarship to cover travel and accommodation expenses in Crema. In addition to this important recognition, other valuable prizes will be awarded, including two handcrafted double basses made by Yurong SUN for the first and second place winners, and two Bogaro & Clemente bow cases for the third place winner and the winner of the Audience Award.
